The Better Mind Center’s team of psychotherapists and coaches offers an approach grounded in Pain Reprocessing Therapy and integrating various mindbody modalities and techniques to provice the most effective treatment that will lead to lasting recovery and better mental health. Patricia Graue has a background in clinical psychology, psychoanalysis, mindfulness and compassion based programs, anti-oppressive practice, and trauma sensitive and weight inclusive care. She has extensive experience working with survivors of sexual violence and abuse and folks going through bereavement. She supports individuals in taking control of their lives, making intentional choices, fostering a sense of self-determination, and growing in agency, resilience, and well-being. She offers psychotherapy for residents of Mexico, and emotional awareness and expression coaching for pain recovery globally, in both English and Spanish. Kent Bassett is a pain recovery coach and filmmaker who directed This Might Hurt, a feature documentary about chronic pain and a radical mind-body treatment. He works with people struggling with chronic pain, anxiety, depression, and fatigue. His approach to coaching is influenced by his his own healing journey that involved emotion-focused therapy and mindfulness meditation. Kent is attuned to how violence and bias affect people differently based on their gender, race, class, sexual identity, nationality, ability, and other factors. Deb Malkin is a body positive pain recovery coach and hypnotist with a background in bodywork who has a personal experience of recovery from chronic pain and whose process includes biopsychosocial approaches to wellness. Deb helps clients recover from all kinds of physical and emotional pain by helping them embody the lessons of pain science education, life coaching, radical self acceptance, self compassion and their 20 years of experience as a queer fat activist. Callie Kunz is a pain recovery coach based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After overcoming 24 years of fibromyalgia symptoms, Callie began working with persistent pain patients. A retired educator, she is passionate about mind-body approaches to chronic conditions and is dedicated to using evidence-based strategies to support others in their recoveries. Callie believes in the body’s remarkable capacity to heal and approaches her work with positivity, honesty, and compassion. She is certified in Pain Reprocessing Therapy and holds a Master Life Coach certification. Callie has experience working with various psychogenic symptoms, including headaches, digestive issues, neck and back pain, and insomnia.
