Grief Tending Sessions

Hello, dear one.

I’m so glad you’re here. I’m deeply sorry for the losses that have brought you here.

As a companion to my free self-guided Grief Tending Workshop, these sessions are a soft space where all of you and your experience can be held — a place of loving presence, compassionate witnessing, and tender support for whatever grief may be moving through you.

There are so many ways loss and sorrow can touch us, leaving us irrevocably changed in ways we couldn’t have anticipated. In these moments, it can be profoundly challenging to find ground and know which way to turn. These sessions are a place to gently begin.

Together, we’ll engage in practices for tending grief in its many forms—personal, collective, ancestral, and existential. This may include grief related to pain or illness, relationships, identity, transitions, unmet longings, loss of possibility, or simply the ache of being human in a world that asks so much of us.

“Life is brutal. But it’s also beautiful. Brutiful, I call it.”
—Glennon Doyle

We’ll draw from frameworks such as Francis Weller’s Five Gates of Grief, Holly Truhlar’s RAW Grief approach, narrative and somatic healing practices.

You’ll be invited to stay rooted in your own knowing, to move at your own pace, and to relate to your grief not as something to fix, but as something to meet with care and choice.

Above all, we’ll honor your wholeness and humanity—even in the midst of the deepest sorrow.

If you’re new to this space…

I’m Dr. Lilia Graue.

I’m a bereavement and death doula, physician, psychotherapist, and mindbody healing mentor.

I am also someone who intimately knows loss personally.

I know what it’s like when everything falls apart—how life can bring us to our knees. And I also know that out of deep loss, life can offer unexpected moments of beauty, gratitude, and even joy.

I’ve grieved the death of my father and many beloved other-than-human kin. I’ve known the pain of estrangement from close family, and the heartache of regret. I’ve lived through the loss of safety, dignity, and belonging at different times in my life. I’ve also experienced life-altering injuries and pain, and the grief of losing health and physical ability.

I’ve sat with people of all ages in moments of all-consuming fear and grief, physical vulnerability, emotional complexity, trauma responses, and profound transition — as well as moments of expansive joy, deep love, and the vibrant aliveness that can emerge even in the midst of loss and difficulty.

This has deepened my ability to stay present, attuned, and steady even in experiences that may feel especially intense, unsettling, triggering, or overwhelming.

You don’t have to go through those moments alone. I will meet whatever unfolds with radical presence and acceptance, curiosity, clarity, and compassion.
